Part-time Gymnastics Instructor

About This Role

Instruct and coach gymnastics classes and the competitive team for the City of College Park, ensuring participants learn and develop in the sport while maintaining a safe and disciplined environment.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach gymnastics classes and the competitive team
• Arrive before scheduled teaching time to set up for classes and move equipment
• Spot participants during gymnastics activities
• Prepare and distribute all handouts for classes and the team
• Implement and enforce class discipline protocols
• Document and report any injury sustained by participants
• Follow class lesson plans and the competitive team schedule
• Evaluate participants in the class program and notify the Gymnastics Coordinator of advanced students
• Maintain knowledge of current competitive routines
• Attend all required training and regularly scheduled staff meetings
• Travel to and from competitive meets as required
• Assist and aid the Head Coach and the Gymnastics Coordinator

Requirements

• Age minimum 16 years
• Knowledge of principles, techniques, and methods of maintaining and using gymnastics apparatus

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous gymnastics experience, as well as coaching or instructional experience, is preferred
