About This Role

This Paraeducator I role provides one-on-one resource support by assisting certificated staff in classrooms or other learning environments, preparing educational materials, and monitoring students' progress, behavior, and safety. The position performs routine clerical tasks and supports the district's equity-focused direction.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with certificated staff in classrooms or other learning environments
  • Assist with a variety of instructional support and student supervision duties
  • Prepare educational materials
  • Monitor students' progress, behavior, and safety
  • Perform routine clerical tasks to support teachers and other district staff

Requirements

  • At least eighteen years of age
  • High school diploma or its equivalent

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, OR 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, OR completed a registered paraeducator apprenticeship, OR a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment, Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment, or Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting
  • Evidence of an interest in supporting learning experiences
  • Training with cultural, ethnic and language diversity
