Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator

About This Role

This role involves scheduling orthodontic appointments, communicating treatment plans, and assisting patients with financial options. It focuses on providing exceptional customer service to support patients throughout their orthodontic journey.

Responsibilities

• Obtain high treatment acceptance by explaining cost of treatment, insurance coverage, and finance options
• Explain treatment plans and timeline to patients and families in clear, simple terms, addressing concerns and answering questions
• Present financing options and assist patients with affording care, educating them on insurance coverage and payment options
• Ensure timely payment collection and manage outstanding balances
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Maintain detailed patient records (medical history, treatment in progress)
• Submit paperwork to insurance
• Operate X-ray machines and assist with clinical tasks when required (if certified)
• Solicit referrals from patients post treatment and track satisfaction with work provided

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year orthodontic or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous sales experience, comfortable discussing costs and payment plans with patients
• Responsive to patients (follow-up with patients, answer questions)
• Computer proficiency, comfortable in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Understand and able to effectively communicate techniques utilized in the Orthodontic field

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required
• A minimum of 1 year orthodontic or equivalent experience is required

Nice to Have

• 3+ years experience as a Treatment Coordinator in a dental practice with knowledge of Orthodontics treatments
• 3+ years of sales or customer service experience
• Knowledge of dental insurances, payment financing, and self-pay collections
• Bilingual, Spanish is a plus
