About This Role

This role provides essential housekeeping services to maintain a safe and clean environment in the Operating Room, Recovery Room, and associated areas. It involves safe and timely patient transportation, additional non-patient pick-up and delivery services, and adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and order various stock supplies including scrub brushes, masks, shoe covers, saline, sterile water, cleaning solutions, and boots
• Clean assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, equipment, walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, vents, and windows with germicidal solutions
• Sweep and mop floor areas using appropriate solutions
• Perform terminal cleaning procedures of Operating Rooms and prepare rooms for next cases, following established guidelines
• Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials, removing waste and soiled linens from work areas and placing in specified bags or containers
• Transport patients to and from requesting areas, ensuring adherence to all safety measures
• Collect hazardous waste using established procedures and transport it in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal
• Clean equipment, notify manager of equipment needing repair, and request additional cleaning supplies as needed
• Assemble suctions, clean and remake stretchers, stock and check par levels of blankets and pillows in warmers, and stock personnel protection equipment
• Assist in surgical prepping, transferring, and positioning patients

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 6 months of directly related experience

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent
• 1/2 year (6 months) directly related experience

Nice to Have

• Operating room environment experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish
