As an Operator I, you will perform routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes for medical devices, working under direct supervision. This role involves casting, coating, mechanical assembly, and packaging functions in Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) division.
Responsibilities
- Perform Casting/Coating functions, examining medical devices after molding for defects
- Utilize small drills, reamers, taps, and knives to access and remove excess epoxy
- Patch and repair bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools, then bake parts to cure epoxy patches
- Perform Mechanical Assembly functions, kitting, assembling, bonding, coating, and processing medical devices using microscopes and tools
- Locate and correct problems by examining devices and components, visually inspecting parts/assemblies
- Repair and correct devices and related components using microscopes and applicable tools
- Perform Packaging Functions, kitting, assembling, and packaging devices and accessories using applicable tools
- Review all device documentation for completeness and accuracy
- May set-up and utilize special test equipment
Requirements
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
- Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages
- Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance
- Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts
- Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- 0-6 months of experience working in a medical or other regulated production environments
