Provide technical expertise for the proper operation and repair of instruments, control systems, and mechanical/electrical equipment in the power generation industry. Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all related equipment throughout the power plant.
Responsibilities
- Assist with various mechanical maintenance duties including predictive maintenance, filter replacement, and bearing repacking
- Wire and disconnect motors, replace thermocouples and fuses, and perform electrical checks
- Operate and monitor combustion turbines, 13.8 kV generators, and electric generation balance of plant equipment
- Understand NERC regulations and guidelines when operating combustion turbines
- Read mechanical flow diagrams, electrical on-line and wiring diagrams
- Order parts and assist with inventory control and maintenance
- Apply safe work practices and participate in the station's safety tagging and record maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on all major equipment and emergency backup systems
- Diagnose electrical, I & C, electronic, and electrical systems problems
- Coordinate with Operations personnel in the safe and reliable operation of the power plant
Requirements
- Associate degree (A. A.) in electronics or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Reside within a 30-mile radius from the plant site
- 2 years’ experience with operations and maintenance of LM6000 Gas Turbines
- Available to work flexible work schedules, including weekend overtime or shift times as required
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
- US work authorization
Qualifications
- Associate degree (A. A.) in electronics or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- 4-6 years related experience and/or training, or 2 years experience with operations and maintenance of LM6000 Gas Turbines

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc.)
