About This Role

Supervise the daily operations of the Conflicts team within Latham's Office of the General Counsel. This role involves monitoring capacity, providing performance feedback, escalating complex issues, and guiding professional development to ensure high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the relevant Conflicts team
  • Monitor team capacity and provide regular performance feedback
  • Act as a key point of escalation for complex issues
  • Guide the team on complex conflicts checks
  • Support the team’s professional development
  • Generate performance evaluations and recommend salary increases
  • Work with Human Capital & Talent to recruit, hire, train, coach, and manage employee performance
  • Supervise the orientation and training programs for new staff members
  • Assume a lead role in completing complex new business and lateral attorney conflicts checks
  • Supervise workflow and ensure tasks are completed within requested periods while adhering to firm guidelines

Requirements

  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to proofread the work of others to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Excellent leadership skills (organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a legal or professional services environment, preferably, and a minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience

Nice to Have

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent, another legal educational or certification program, or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a legal or professional services environment
