The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides therapy and related services to patients in senior living communities, working under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role involves delivering quality patient care, maintaining positive client interactions, and adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Optimize functional abilities and skills of patients under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist
- Assist in screening and providing input to initial patient evaluations as appropriate
- Implement treatment plans for all assigned patients
- Comply with state and federal guidelines for accurate and timely billing and documentation
- Establish and maintain effective interactions with patients, interdisciplinary teams, and other clientele
- Supervise rehab technicians during group and individual treatments
- Participate in integrating occupational therapy's role into community and interdisciplinary treatment plans
- Attend mandatory meetings, trainings, and assignments as delegated
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACOTE accredited school of occupational therapy
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds of dead weight alone
