An Occupational Therapist at Powerback will assess patient needs, develop recovery plans, and deliver occupational therapy services in a pediatric outpatient setting within a major Chicagoland hospital healthcare system. This role focuses on helping patients restore, reinforce, and enhance their fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional well-being, sensory processing, and self-help skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs
- Develop patient recovery plans
- Deliver occupational therapy services
- Design programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional well-being, sensory processing, and self-help skills
- Assist patients in achieving overall independence
- Train patients and caregivers on skills needed to promote independence, self-help, and community participation
- Make referrals to help patients get the care they need
Requirements
- Master’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards (or grandfathered in with Bachelor’s degree)
- 2+ years of experience in outpatient pediatric setting
- Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice
Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in outpatient pediatric setting

- Inpatient pediatrics experience
- NICU experience
