Provide outpatient rehabilitation services as an Occupational Therapist, primarily in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Evaluate, treat, and develop personalized care plans to restore, reinforce, and enhance functional performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population
- Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation
- Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance
- Facilitate the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedule, and complete timely clinical and billing documentation
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs
- Consult with other rehabilitation team members and physicians to select appropriate therapeutic regimens
- Adapt program and/or plan of care according to individual patient needs
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures
- Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers
- Implement the occupational therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation
- Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices, and train patients in their use
- Instruct patients in skills and techniques for functional activities and evaluate their progress
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation
