Occupational Therapist (OT)

About This Role

Provide outpatient rehabilitation services as an Occupational Therapist, primarily in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Evaluate, treat, and develop personalized care plans to restore, reinforce, and enhance functional performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population
• Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation
• Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance
• Facilitate the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel
• Adhere to department and patient treatment schedule, and complete timely clinical and billing documentation
• Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings
• Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs
• Consult with other rehabilitation team members and physicians to select appropriate therapeutic regimens
• Adapt program and/or plan of care according to individual patient needs
• Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures
• Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers
• Implement the occupational therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation
• Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices, and train patients in their use
• Instruct patients in skills and techniques for functional activities and evaluate their progress

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
• Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
• Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
• Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation

• Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
• Entry level with mentorship program for new grads
