The Occupational Therapist will implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with various disabilities and delays, administering therapy in home and community settings. This role focuses on improving independence in physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing appropriate goals.
- Create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
- Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL’s, and social/emotional development.
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child.
- Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
Requirements
- State OT license
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of experience in occupational therapy
