Implement and provide high-quality occupational therapy treatment programs for pediatric and young adult patients with various developmental challenges in a home and community setting. Empower caregivers and families to support the child's therapeutic progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care and meet the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals appropriate for child; creating and implementing occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
- Assist pediatric and young adult patients in the areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL's, and social/emotional development and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with the physician order
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- State Occupational Therapist license
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
