Occupational Therapist

About This Role

Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional disabilities by providing occupational therapy in home and community settings. Assist patients in maximizing independence across various developmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing goals appropriate for children
• Create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
• Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development
• Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
• Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills for carrying over therapeutic activities
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plans following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• State license as an Occupational Therapist
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
