About This Role

Implement and administer occupational therapy treatment programs for pediatric and young adult patients with diverse disabilities, focusing on physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional development within a home health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations and interpret assessment results for pediatric patients.
  • Develop goals appropriate for each child's needs.
  • Create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with physicians.
  • Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development.
  • Implement skilled interventions to maximize each individual child's potential.
  • Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders.
  • Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to ensure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge.
  • Document patient care services and care coordination using an electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

  • State Occupational Therapist license
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
