Implement and administer occupational therapy treatment programs for pediatric and young adult patients with diverse disabilities, focusing on physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional development within a home health setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations and interpret assessment results for pediatric patients.
- Develop goals appropriate for each child's needs.
- Create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with physicians.
- Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development.
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize each individual child's potential.
- Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders.
- Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to ensure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge.
- Document patient care services and care coordination using an electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- State Occupational Therapist license
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
