This role coordinates the provision of enteral nutrition formula and supplies for patients, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining cohesive relationships with staff to optimize the nutrition program's effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly monitoring of enteral nutrition patients, including supply inventory review via ENT-Enteral Refill Assessment and processing Delivery Tickets.
- Maintain current enteral orders, track expiration dates, generate order renewals, and fax to prescribers.
- Provide patients with formulary supply types and quantities within guidelines, promoting formulary conversion when indicated.
- Ensure authorization and order are not expired prior to refill, communicating with teammates responsible for authorization as needed.
- Take payment from patients/caregivers as required and escalate payment questions/concerns to the Patient Pay team.
- Respond to enteral patient inquiries, including tracking shipments upon request.
- Communicate with CMC Pump Champion and pharmacy/warehouse teams regarding enteral pump needs, problems, and issues.
- Coordinate enteral pump swaps for yearly maintenance and as needed, completing ENT-Discharge with pump progress notes.
- Coordinate inventory needs with Supply Chain and CMC warehouse staff.
- Follow the enteral discharge for inactivity process to maintain a clean census and place outbound calls to patients in advance of monthly refill.
- Identify and escalate clinical or operational enteral issues beyond capability to appropriate enteral team members.
- Observe legal and nutrition guidelines for safeguarding patient information confidentiality.
- Participate in on-call ECOE rotation as scheduled by Enteral COE Manager or Enteral Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of relevant work experience
- Experience in organizing information and communication with the public
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexible and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Basic competency with Microsoft Office software
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant work experience in organizing information and public communication
Nice to Have
- Experience in enteral nutrition
- Experience ordering products and coordinating deliveries
- Knowledge of medical records, reimbursement and/or nutrition
