This position functions as the Division Chief for the Healthy Kids Unit, overseeing administrative and clinical activities to ensure quality healthcare for Medical Assistance children, teens, and young adults under 21. The role involves personnel management, performance improvement, and policy implementation for the Healthy Kids Program.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical oversight of the activities of the Healthy Kids Unit
- Provide personnel management of employees to ensure practice-based standards are met
- Provide performance improvement assessments and targeted interventions to enhance quality of health services
- Plan, organize, and supervise the work of the Unit
- Develop, revise, and implement protocols, guidelines, and controls for program administration
- Prepare the Unit’s annual budget requests
- Direct, coordinate, and implement Program policy, coverage of benefits, and reimbursement for the Healthy Kids Program
- Represent the State, Department of Health, and Medical Assistance Program in dealings with other states, federal government, healthcare industry, and legal proceedings
- Oversee the development and maintenance of procedures to ensure professional quality, appropriateness, and medical necessity of health services
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field
- Five years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
- Five years of experience as a Registered Nurse including three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity.
Nice to Have
- Experience with hospital and community health administration as it affects nursing and nursing education
- Experience with Maryland Medicaid Information System Subsystems (MMIS)
- Experience with Salesforce and/or LTSS
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations, rules, and regulations governing medical programs and nursing services COMAR 10.09.11
