Caregivers enhance the community by offering compassionate support, care, and companionship to residents. This role involves assisting seniors with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being in compliance with company and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, considering dietary restrictions and preferences
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and exercises to maintain physical health
- Engage in conversations, games, and activities to provide emotional support and companionship
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Monitor for potential hazards or emergencies and respond appropriately to ensure residents' safety
- Maintain open communication with residents, their families, and team members regarding well-being updates
- Accurately record and document care provided, changes in residents' conditions, and any incidents or observations
- Treat residents with respect, dignity, and empathy, promoting their independence and autonomy
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and assist with the mobility of residents as needed
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Current First Aid and CPR card
- Current Food Handlers card
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving, preferably in senior care
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in caregiving, preferably in senior care
- Completion of required caregiver training and certifications (if applicable)
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with a special interest in working with the senior population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
