Nursing Faculty - Pediatrics

About This Role

This role involves providing nursing instruction with innovative methodologies to students in the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions, specifically in Pediatrics lab and clinical settings. The faculty member will reinforce didactic content, evaluate student progress, and ensure compliance with program accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of nursing knowledge and skills
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress
• Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs
• Maintain communication with program faculty and director, including attendance in select faculty meetings
• Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
• Travel to student clinical sites in the greater Albuquerque area to directly observe student performance

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent work experience in pediatric nursing
• Active, current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or compact state
• Must successfully pass a drug test

Nice to Have

• Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
• Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications)
