Nursery Patient Care Tech

About This Role

This role provides direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses, ensuring a safe environment for patients. The Patient Care Tech collects vital patient information and reports changes to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care.
• Administer or assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Perform vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.
• Collect clinical data and information on patients, and report changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assist nurse with patient and family education.
• Document all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
• Act as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and professional development.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to attend a 2-week orientation (Mon-Fri 7:30a-4:00p)

• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience
