About This Role

Manage the day-to-day nursing activities of a facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained and provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the nursing staff, including scheduling breaks, reassigning employees, writing performance reviews, and enforcing policies
  • Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other departments to plan care
  • Develop and maintain care standards
  • Make frequent rounds to monitor resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel perform assignments
  • Give and receive nursing reports at shift changes
  • Ensure assigned work areas, resident/patient care rooms, and treatment areas are clean and sanitary
  • Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing action plans for deficiencies
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting
  • Interpret restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and family members
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary
  • Ensure restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of treatment and resident response
  • Document all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, and company standards
  • Complete required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge
  • Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, expected arrival times, and room assignments

Requirements

  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.
