About This Role

Provide comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for pediatric patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans. Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction in a collaborative hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care
• Deliver direct patient care to pediatric patients (infant to 18 years of age)
• Ensure patient satisfaction
• Train and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant)
• Adhere to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations
• Utilize the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care

Requirements

• ADN degree
• Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification

Qualifications

• ADN
• No experience required.

Nice to Have

• BSN degree
• At least 1 year of RN experience
• Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs and the priority within Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Frame Work as well as Swanson’s Caring model
• Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills
• Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet
• Ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills
