About This Role

Provide comprehensive patient-centered care as a Registered Nurse in the Adult Progressive Care Unit, focusing on assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care in a critical care setting. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient satisfaction and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide total, comprehensive, continuous and patient-centered care
• Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care
• Deliver direct patient care
• Ensure patient satisfaction
• Train and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant)
• Adhere to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes

Requirements

• ADN
• Active Kentucky or compact state RN license in good standing
• AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date
• Ability to work two 12-hour shifts every weekend Saturday and Sunday 7p-7:30a

Qualifications

• ADN
• No experience required.

Nice to Have

• BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience
• Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs and the priority within Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Frame Work
• Knowledge of Swanson’s Caring model
• Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills
• Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients and their families, co-workers and physicians
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills

Certifications
