Multimedia Journalist

About This Role

As a Multimedia Journalist, you will uncover and tell compelling stories across multiple platforms including TV, connected television, and digital, focusing on issues important to the local community in Fresno.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write, shoot, interview, and edit stories
• Uncover perspectives that might otherwise go unreported
• Create compelling, timely, and accurate coverage
• Connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms
• Interact with the community to discover important stories

Requirements

• 3+ years print or television news reporting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field, or comparable television work experience
• Ability to shoot videos
• Understanding of video editing software
• Ability to utilize social media effectively
• Ability to communicate effectively on camera and through writing and verbal expression
• Innate curiosity and a sense of urgency for compelling stories
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
• Openness to travel to discover important stories
• Willingness to interact with the community
• Ability to work under time pressure deadlines
• Willingness and ability to work different or longer shifts due to breaking news and severe weather emergencies
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field; or comparable television work experience
• 3+ years of experience in print or television news reporting
