Mid-Level Interior Designer

About This Role

The Mid-Level Interior Designer will work on 2-3 projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and design intent for residential, retail, commercial, and experiential design. This role involves contributing to design, drafting, and conceptual work under the supervision of senior staff, while liaising with high-profile clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Work on 2 to 3 projects at a time to ensure quality of work and design intent, schedule and budget
• Contribute to design, drafting, and other conceptual and task-oriented work for projects of varying scale and typology
• Liaise with high-profile clients, notable vendors, and consultants on a regular basis

Requirements

• 5-10 years of professional experience in a design studio (not including internships)
• Substantial residential design experience
• High-level proficiency in AutoCAD (drawing set experience), Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel
• Ability to take projects from concept through construction, including conceptual sketches and renderings, design and construction drawings and documentation including millwork design and representation
• Extensive knowledge and experience with a large array of finishes and the ability to create material palettes
• Fluent verbal and written communication in English

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field
• 5-10 years of professional experience in a design studio, not including internships, with substantial residential design experience

Nice to Have

• Experience across retail, commercial, and experiential design
• Extensive FF&E experience
• V-Ray proficiency
• Extensive knowledge and experience of NYC consultants, showrooms and vendors
