Mental Health Clinician / Therapist

About This Role

Assume the primary clinical role for youth and families, identifying risks, developing treatment plans, and providing individual, family, and group therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary clinical role for youth/TAY and families
• Identifies immediate risks and needs of youth/TAY and family and develops a plan to address them in collaboration with the treatment team
• Identifies ongoing treatment needs and develops plans, diagnoses, and updates problem lists as needed
• Provides individual, family, and group therapy and collateral services to youth/TAY and their families
• Available for 24/7 on-call services to assist in crisis intervention and provide support for problem resolution (on a rotating basis)
• Uses a "whatever it takes" approach to provide services in various settings, including homes, schools/work, community, and office settings
• Uses personal vehicle to drive to and from offsite locations to provide services
• May be required to transport participants and/or family members in a personal vehicle

Requirements

• One (1) year direct service experience in a mental health setting (student internship and/or practicum time may be substituted)
• Licensed as AMFT, ACSW, or APCC required for Mental Health Specialist II
• Licensed as LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC required for Mental Health Specialist III
• Valid California Driver’s License and must meet Agency driver eligibility criteria

Qualifications

• 1 year of direct service experience in a mental health setting (student internship/practicum time may be substituted)

Nice to Have

• Experience in a community-based therapy setting
