About This Role

Provide daily support in a medical office environment by assisting with patient assessment, examinations, treatments, and administrative duties. This role involves direct patient care, scheduling, and maintaining supplies within an ENT Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, collect assessment data, and prepare patients according to specific need
  • Assist in examination, treatment, and other clinic procedures
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, screening tests, and QI projects
  • Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, or direct callers to appropriate personnel
  • Schedule appointments and conduct reminder calls to all patients
  • Register patients by verifying that patient's record is up to date and accurate
  • Coordinate referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices
  • Collect payment from patients and issue receipts where applicable
  • Prepare and maintain patient charts
  • Maintain and order supplies
  • Administer injections and medications as ordered and directed (LPN only)
  • Review physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient (LPN only)
  • Document according to standards of care (LPN only)
  • Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the provider or RN (LPN only)
  • Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens (LPN only)

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program OR accredited LPN program
  • CPR or BLS certification within 90 days

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP OR Graduate of an accredited LPN Program
  • Entry-level position; clinical rotation preferred for Medical Assistants

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a program with a clinical rotation (for Medical Assistants)
