Med Tech

About This Role

This role involves providing direct personal care, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring the optimal well-being of residents in a senior living community. The Med Tech will communicate with residents, families, and physicians while maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Promote optimal well-being of residents including personal care, oral hygiene, medication administration and treatments, hydration, nutrition, exercise, and socialization
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and specimens
• Serve as charge person for a shift, overseeing nursing support and care delivered by others
• Fulfill routine nursing office tasks such as order transcription, ordering and receiving medications, and responding to emergencies
• Communicate orally and in writing with residents, co-workers, families, and physicians
• Document activities in accordance with facility procedures in a timely fashion
• Notify Administrator and/or DON of problems, concerns, and safety issues
• Follow all safety, security, infection control, quality, and hazardous materials policies and procedures
• Attend all regulation and THSC mandated in-services, follow mandated abuse/neglect reporting, and maintain confidentiality

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma
• Ability to make mature and accurate judgments
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
• Ability to provide personal care with respect for an individual’s privacy and dignity
• Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to persons of varying age, culture, religion, and/or ability
• Ability to remain physically active for the duration of the assigned/scheduled shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma

Nice to Have

• HHA or CNA course completion
• Studies in nursing or a related field
• Experience caring for a friend or family member with disabilities
