Meat Team Member (Service Counter)

About This Role

The Meat Team Member provides essential support within the meat department, focusing on counter service, stocking, and maintaining sanitation standards. This role ensures a positive customer experience by offering courteous and efficient service while adhering to all company procedures and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fresh and appealing product displays by checking quality, rotating stock, and maintaining case cleanliness.
• Maintain organized and well-stocked back areas of the department.
• Assist with product sampling programs, ensuring areas are full, clean, and inviting.
• Clean and sanitize meat cases, equipment, and surrounding areas including floors and drains.
• Provide excellent customer service, proactively addressing customer needs and utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Comply with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Perform assigned opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report any safety hazards or violations.
• Handle knives and other cutting equipment safely and effectively.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours per day
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
