Meat Team Member (Service Counter)

About This Role

The Meat Team Member provides support to the meat department, focusing on counter service, stocking, and sanitation. This role ensures a fresh and appealing display of products and delivers excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, and rotating products.
• Maintain back stock in good order and assist with sampling programs, keeping areas full and appealing.
• Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours a day
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
