Meat Team Member (Service Counter)

About This Role

This role is a part-time Meat Team Member providing essential support for counter service, stocking, and sanitation within the meat department, ensuring a fresh and appealing display while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
• Maintain back stock in good order.
• Assist with sampling programs, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
• Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner; answering phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.

• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
• Ability to work in wet and cold environments
• Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
