Meat Manager

About This Role

The Meat Manager will oversee and maintain the entire function of the Meat Department, ensuring company policies, budgets, and operating procedures are met. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for the meat industry to coach team members and engage with the community to build trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store through open communication
• Provide a safe, clean and positive environment based on relationships and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives
• Build knowledge and skills personally and within the department through training and education
• Aid in the development and growth of team members through coaching, training, evaluation, and counseling
• Perform team member evaluations and address disciplinary issues effectively and timely
• Establish and monitor team member work schedules for maximum guest service, productivity, and efficiency
• Maintain effective control of department inventory through proper ordering, waste prevention, and record keeping
• Responsible for gross profit, merchandising, preparing and displaying product within set guidelines and standards
• Maintain an awareness of the department's competitive activity within the store marketing areas

Requirements

• 2+ years in the meat industry
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Ability to lift 80+ pounds
• Proficiency in operating a meat saw, grinder, cubing machine, wrapping machine, knives, slicer, steamer, and scales

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training
• 2+ years in the meat industry
