The Operating Room Manager is responsible for the daily operation of surgical services, endoscopy, and central processing departments at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. This role ensures quality patient care by setting clinical standards, managing staffing, and participating in budget planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the operating rooms, endoscopy, and central processing department
- Ensure quality patient care by establishing and maintaining clinical standards of practice and care while meeting staffing requirements
- Participate in planning annual budget preparation including operational and capital items
- Assure that hospital policies and procedures are updated and coordinate unit and organizational quality improvement activities
- Keep current in clinical issues and trends
- Intervene appropriately in patient, family, and physician issues in a timely manner
- Assess, plan, and evaluate orientation and education requirements for staff and assure they are met
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- CNOR Certification
- Washington Registered Nurse License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 5 years experience in Surgical Services as a clinical caregiver
- 3 years experience as a charge nurse within Surgical Services, including progressively supervisory roles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- 5 years Experience in Surgical Services as a clinical caregiver, and 3 years experience as a charge nurse within Surgical Services, including progressively supervisory roles
Nice to Have
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- AORN certification
- 1 year experience in a management role within Surgical Services
- Experience with Epic/Intra-Op
