About This Role

Manage Child Life, Healing Arts, Teacher/School Liaison, and Spiritual Care programs across Children's Nebraska. This role involves leading program innovation, managing budgets, and fostering staff development to enhance care for patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program innovation and growth, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, accreditation standards, and best practices
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, processes, and services that enhance quality, safety, and patient/family experience
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing models, and resources to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Monitor performance metrics, productivity, and resource utilization, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
  • Recruit, hire, and retain highly qualified staff, fostering an inclusive and supportive culture
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate psychosocial and spiritual care into treatment planning and care delivery
  • Serve as a liaison to hospital committees, leadership councils, and external partners, advocating for family-centered practices
  • Guide education initiatives for staff, students, and community members regarding Patient & Family Holistic Support Services
  • Promote awareness of Child Life, Healing Arts, The Hub, School Liaison, Spiritual Care, and holistic support professions

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Child Life (or related field), Divinity, Theology, Spiritual Care, or related healthcare/human services field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Child Life, Spiritual Care, or family-centered healthcare services
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience, including supervision and program management
  • Experience in pediatric or healthcare settings
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric psychosocial development and spiritual care practices
  • Demonstrated success in program and people leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively across diverse disciplines and populations
  • Skill in budget management, resource allocation, and data-driven decision-making
  • Capacity to build collaborative relationships
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis and sensitive family situations
  • CCLS - Certified Child Life Specialist or BCC - Board Certified Chaplain

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Child Life (or related field), Divinity, Theology, Spiritual Care, or related healthcare/human services field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Child Life, Spiritual Care, or family-centered healthcare services, with a minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience including supervision and program management, in pediatric or healthcare settings.
