This role involves leading the EMC and Wireless laboratory operations in Maryland, focusing on operational excellence, innovation, and client relationship management within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry. The Manager will drive revenue growth and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive lab culture, prioritizing employee engagement, confidentiality, and collaboration with HR to ensure consistent policy application
- Partner with Sales to drive revenue growth through exceptional customer engagement and service delivery
- Promote a proactive safety culture, working with Health and Safety representatives to ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulations
- Prioritize operational activities to deliver high-quality analytical data, meet key goals, and ensure on-time client delivery
- Partner with leadership to align on laboratory goals, maintain accreditations/certifications, and implement effective sales strategies to support growth
- Contribute to maintaining a positive operating margin and achieving annual budget targets through efficient resource management
- Communicate lab goals, mentor key staff, and maintain optimal staffing levels to support operational needs
- Collaborate across Eurofins laboratories to implement best practices, enhance productivity, and elevate customer service
- Oversee laboratory purchases, including capital spending, to support business objectives and operational efficiency
- Enforce company policies on Quality, Safety, Ethics, and Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements
- Leadership experience in a laboratory or TIC industry setting
- Expertise in EMC testing per FCC, ANSI, EN, ETSI, MIL, or RTCA standards
- Experience in the defense industry (contracting, operations, or quality assurance)
- Familiarity with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulations
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or Master’s degree in a relevant field or High school diploma/GED
- Minimum 6 years of experience in EMC testing, manufacturing, R&D, or compliance with a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a Master's, or 10 years with a High School diploma
