Manager & Actuary, Alternative Solutions

About This Role

This role involves pricing and executing sophisticated reinsurance transactions, managing the P&L of existing portfolios, and ensuring sustainable growth and profitability within the newly established Alternative Solutions Group at Munich Re US Life.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end reinsurance transactions, including due diligence, assumption setting, pricing, valuation, and financial modeling
• Prepare transaction approval materials and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Own and refine the coinsurance pricing framework
• Collaborate with asset managers to develop, maintain, and enhance the Asset-Liability Management (ALM) framework
• Create and optimize capital structures, applying knowledge of economic capital and regulatory frameworks (U.S., Bermuda, SII)
• Develop financial projections to support leadership in planning and decision making
• Monitor industry trends, evaluate competitive dynamics, and research new products and markets for growth opportunities
• Partner with senior leadership to define growth priorities and execute strategic initiatives

Requirements

• FSA designation
• 6+ years of experience in life reinsurance, M&A, or sidecar

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in life reinsurance, M&A, or sidecar

Nice to Have

• Relevant experience in financial modelling, assumptions setting, product pricing
• Experience in life insurance ALM or investment management
• Experience in direct and/or reinsurance pricing
