Maintenance and Operator Instructor/Technical Writer

About This Role

This role involves planning, creating, and reviewing technical publications for flight simulators, requiring extensive knowledge of electronics and techniques. The instructor will conduct classroom and on-the-job training for simulator operation and maintenance, evaluating student performance and acting as a technical advisor.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and review technical publications for flight simulators
• Conduct structured classroom instruction and simulator on-the-job training (OJT) for operation and maintenance
• Evaluate and document student performance
• Function as a Technical Advisor for solving broad technical problems
• Schedule all training activities
• Answer complex technical questions escalated from team members/customers
• Perform classroom and simulator OJT instruction on simulator daily operation and maintenance
• Ensure training includes utilization of all available documentation
• Teach students to troubleshoot, repair, replace, tune, and align simulator systems
• Develop training materials, courseware, and implement improvements in training

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years' experience with full flight simulators
• Thorough understanding of simulator maintenance requirements
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, plans, and specifications
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel worldwide 30-40% of the time
• Active Security Clearance

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent
• 8+ years' experience with full flight simulators, preferably in operation and maintenance

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in developing and/or conducting simulator maintenance training
• Prior experience with DOD contractor
