The 3rd Shift Machinist operates and sets up conventional, numerical control (NC), and specialized machines to precisely machine steel and brass components for Danfoss in Freeport, IL. This role is crucial for maintaining safety, quality, and productivity in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
- Complies with all standard operating procedures, control plans, processes, and quality standards while operating multiple machines.
- Assesses situations impartially and makes timely decisions aimed at enhancing work performance.
- Effectively organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines with high quality.
- Employs innovative strategies and ideas to resolve issues, optimizing the use of available resources.
- Performs all required Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities and maintains possession of necessary personal tools.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Capable of reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating manuals, and procedural guides
- Proficient in performing arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; alternatively, one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
