Machine Operator Nights

About This Role

Operate and maintain processing and packaging equipment, ensuring quality control and basic troubleshooting for Sweetened Dried Cranberries (Craisins) production at the Tomah Processing Plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and control processing and packaging equipment
• Complete basic troubleshooting of equipment
• Perform required lab checks to ensure quality of raw materials and product
• Use in-house applications for recordkeeping and inputting into systems (e.g., Maximo and SAP)
• Manage inventory and enter into a database for yield calculation
• Load and unload tankers, assure proper chemicals are used, and complete necessary related testing and paperwork
• Perform equipment start-up and shutdown, aligning with facility's requirements (e.g., CIP/COP requirements using Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out)
• Maintain area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Monitor operational parameters and record results hourly
• Perform general maintenance on machinery as needed

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 48 lbs on occasion
• Ability to stand, perform, and maneuver around a plant and production line during an eight- or 12-hour shift
• Ability to wear and work using fall and other protection equipment (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection)
• Ability to function as a team member and contribute to team goals
• Advanced computer skills and ability to navigate controls screens
• Knowledge/compliance of Plant’s good manufacturing practices
• Ability to effectively communicate with others, proficiency in reading, writing and math skills
• Must be able to accomplish changeovers
