This role assists with the setup, calibration, and operation of production machines, ensuring quality control and correcting minor malfunctions. The Machine Operator unloads parts, performs inspections, and maintains material and machine part stock.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes
- Inspect machine operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools
- Determine and correct minor machine malfunctions
- Unload parts and inspect for quality
- Operate various equipment to meet production and business needs
- Maintain stock of material and machine parts for equipment
- Determine parts to be manufactured based upon production, orders and stock
- Observe and maintain machines operation to detect defects or malfunctions
Requirements
- 3+ years of machine operating experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use a large variety of hand tools
- Basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- 3+ years of previous machine operating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, & planning skills
- Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
