This role coordinates lifeguard operations, ensuring safety and adherence to aquatic procedures and regulations. It involves scheduling, payroll approval, performance reviews, and recruiting for lifeguard positions.
Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment efforts for Lifeguard openings in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Manager
- Create and manage schedules for all Lifeguards
- Approve bi-weekly payroll for the aquatics team
- Perform all team member performance reviews in a timely manner
- Ensure brand-standard execution of aquatics programming
- Enforce and follow all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
- Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies as defined in aquatics operating guidelines
- Inspect the aquatic facility/water slides daily and report unsafe conditions
- Maintain neatness of aquatic areas and restrooms, including custodial duties
- Communicate members’ concerns, comments, and questions to management
Requirements
- High school diploma or 18 years and older
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- Current American Red Cross First Aid
- One of the following Lifeguard Certifications: American Red Cross, YMCA, or Ellis and Associates
- Excellent water rescue skills (spinal injury, active and passive victim rescues)
- Excellent First Aid, CPR, and AED skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Available to work the entire summer, including M-F and all day shifts on Saturday and Sunday
- Ability to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit, turn/pivot, lift/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or 18 years and older.
