Join HealthPro Heritage as a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct patient care in home health settings near New Orleans, focusing on maternity leave coverage and ongoing PRN needs. This role involves implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists
- Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications
- Monitor and document patient progress
- Report observations to the Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques
- Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Work closely with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective treatment outcomes
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or license eligible
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
