Coordinate and oversee all daily activities for the Camp Fitzmorris Day Camp Program at Fitzmorris Elementary School, ensuring compliance with licensing rules and successful program implementation. This role involves supervising staff and providing a safe, healthy, and positive environment for children aged 5-10.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all daily activities for the Camp Fitzmorris Day Camp Program
- Operate the center in accordance with licensing rules
- Plan and implement the school-age childcare center
- Supervise staff and direct school-age children in an unstructured setting
- Provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment for campers and staff
- Schedule team building activities, leadership opportunities, and volunteer opportunities
- Facilitate all field trips
- Discipline to maintain positive daily outcomes and overall program management
- Assess the overall program for improvements
- Establish procedures for handling health, behavior, and other problems and report incidents
Requirements
- Must be 21 years old
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Appropriate insurance coverage and clean driving record for the past three years
- Ability to drive a 12-passenger van
- Satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection
- Experience caring for children ages 5 to 10 years in a public atmosphere
- Customer service experience and good conflict management skills
- Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and crafts projects
- Ability to be on your feet for 6-8 hours and lift 40 lbs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Child Development, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Family and Human Development, Family Studies, Outdoor Education, Recreation, or Human Services OR Associate's degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours AND three (3) months (455 hours) of experience OR Twenty-one (21) months (3,185 hours) of experience AND six (6) semester hours OR forty (40) clock hours of training OR a current early childhood professional credential level II (2) or higher
- Experience caring for children ages 5 to 10 years in a public atmosphere is required. Minimum of 3 months (455 hours) of experience with an Associate's degree, or 21 months (3185 hours) of experience with 6 semester hours or 40 clock hours of training.
