This role involves drafting, reviewing, and revising practical guidance articles on family law topics, as well as updating related legal documents. The successful candidate will add state-specific guidance based on applicable laws, local customs, and best practices, supporting an ongoing legal research and content development initiative.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise practical guidance articles on family law topics
- Review and update affidavits, agreements, and related family law documents
- Add state-specific “how-to” guidance based on applicable laws, local customs, and best practices
Requirements
- Active bar membership in one or more of the specified states (Louisiana, Colorado, North Carolina, Tennessee, Connecticut, Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, Florida)
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience practicing family law
- Strong background in drafting affidavits, agreements, and similar documents
- Exceptional writing, editing, and legal research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word (including track changes) and online research tools
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law
