This Legal Assistant role in Southfield, Michigan, supports attorneys by preparing and filing legal documents, managing e-filing processes, and coordinating calendars, primarily focusing on litigation and class action cases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file legal documents, including federal court filings, with utmost accuracy
• Manage e-filing processes for litigation and class action cases
• Coordinate and maintain attorneys' calendars by scheduling meetings, court dates, and deadlines
• Ensure compliance with all court filing requirements and procedures
• Assist in drafting and proofreading legal correspondence and case materials
• Organize and maintain case files and legal documentation systematically
• Communicate effectively with court staff and external parties regarding case-related matters
• Support attorneys during litigation processes by conducting research and gathering necessary information

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in litigation or class action cases
• Proficiency in federal court e-filing systems and procedures
• Strong organizational skills, particularly in calendar management and scheduling
• Familiarity with civil litigation processes and terminology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documentation
• Proficiency in using legal software and tools

Qualifications
