Learn to Swim Coordinator

About This Role

The Learn to Swim Coordinator will manage and oversee the Summer 2026 swim lesson program for the Village of Villa Park, ensuring a safe and enriching learning environment for participants. This role involves administrative and supervisory duties, including staff training, scheduling, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Act as facility manager during swim lessons and report issues to the Program Supervisor
• Arrive 30 minutes prior to lessons and remain until closing procedures are completed and staff have left or Pool Manager arrives
• Lock and secure the facility as part of closing procedures, if required
• Train, schedule, and supervise Learn to Swim Instructors/Aides
• Ensure adequate instructors/aides are assigned to each class level
• Be on deck during lessons to ensure participants are placed correctly and staff prioritize safety
• Document all accidents and injuries to employees or patrons
• Submit a written performance evaluation for each Learn to Swim staff member at the end of the season
• Prepare report cards for instructors to fill out and ensure all participants receive them
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies for the Learn to Swim program
• Enforce all pool rules and regulations and supervise LTS participants and spectators
