Lead Electrician

About This Role

Lead electricans will direct other electricians, assign tasks, and maintain quality and efficiency in the Power Products division. The role involves planning, problem-solving, and mentoring new employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and direct the work of electricians on specific projects
• Confer with managers, engineers, production personnel, and project managers to resolve issues
• Set weekly/daily goals on specific projects to achieve peak efficiency
• Mentor new employees
• Evaluate processes for ways to improve quality, efficiency, and communication
• Ensure enforcement of 6S principles
• Read and understand blueprints
• Direct electricians on proper processes and techniques
• Inspect electrical systems using proper measuring equipment and document data
• Report quality issues to electrical lead/manager
• Maintain electrical drawings and work instructions
• Use forklifts, cranes and other lifting apparatus to aid in the electrical process
• Coordinate timeline for movement of materials to ensure availability
• Clean and organize work area
• Directly responsible for 5-10 employees in the Power Products area
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of applied trade practices and techniques in industrial electricity
• High School Diploma/GED
• 3-5 years related experience in industrial electricity

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3-5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
