About This Role

The IT Systems Engineer II is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Dallas College's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and efficiency. This role focuses on ensuring IT systems, including classroom technology and audio-visual systems, are reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the design and implementation of advanced IT systems and infrastructure solutions based on complex business requirements
  • Install, configure, and deploy sophisticated hardware and software components such as high-capacity storage systems, advanced networking devices, and enterprise-level operating systems
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate issues with minimal oversight, leveraging experience and advanced diagnostic tools
  • Execute comprehensive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal reliability, security, and performance of IT systems
  • Implement security measures to protect IT systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access and maintain compliance with security policies and regulations
  • Enhance and maintain documentation such as system configurations, procedures, and user guides for IT systems
  • Collaborate across the organization to understand requirements, configuration, and testing of IT solutions
  • Research new technologies and solutions to improve IT infrastructure and operations and review hardware and software products
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security
  • Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and services

Requirements

  • Proficiency in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving intricate issues with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business processes in Workday
  • Technical competency in the design and architecture of classroom technology and audio-visual systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure of Dallas College

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR 8 years equivalent of experience in a related field
  • 8 years equivalent of experience in a related field or demonstrated experience in a similar role

Nice to Have

  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • CAPM certification
  • Experience working in Agile, Lean environments
