Investment Associate

About This Role

Join GEF Capital Partners' U.S. team as a pre-MBA Associate to help source, analyze, execute, and monitor investments in companies addressing climate change and pollution mitigation. This role also supports the implementation and management of the U.S. team’s environmental impact and ESG strategy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diligence all aspects of new investment proposals including financial, operational, commercial, legal, and environmental
• Develop detailed financial models to support analyses
• Prepare investment memos and present findings to the team
• Perform in-depth research across markets and sectors and identify new investment opportunities
• Work collaboratively with the team to execute transactions and perform other functions, as required
• Support ongoing monitoring of the current and future portfolio through participation in board meetings, quarterly portfolio valuations, and internal and external reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier undergraduate program
• 1-4 years of work experience in financial modeling and analysis (investment banking, private equity, transaction service/accounting due diligence, corporate M&A, management consulting)
• Demonstrated analytical skills, including knowledge of financial modeling, accounting and financial statement analysis
• Sound business judgment and problem-solving skills, including ability to work well as a member of a small team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier undergraduate program
• 1-4 years of work experience specifically within financial modelling and analysis

Nice to Have

• Experience in the energy, utilities, environmental services, clean technology, industrials, logistics, and/or infrastructure sectors
• Interest in environmental impact strategy and management
