This role supports the delivery of all product intake, back of house organization, and inventory execution within the Harry Potter Shop New York. The Assistant Manager ensures efficient product movement from delivery to the sales floor, maintaining strong product availability and stock integrity.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily product intake process, ensuring deliveries are received, processed and moved accurately and efficiently
- Assist in maintaining back of house organization including stockroom layout, zoning standards and workflow routines
- Support the replenishment strategy to keep the sales floor stocked, dense and consistent throughout trading hours
- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Sales leadership to support product launches, floor moves and seasonal changes
- Ensure compliance with operational, health and safety and inventory management processes
- Identify opportunities to improve receiving, storage and replenishment routines and implement improvements
- Lead on cycle counts, stock checks, damages processing and shrink control routines
- Monitor inventory data and flag trends, risks or discrepancies to the relevant teams
- Maintain daily leadership of the back of house and inventory team, helping maintain strong standards of performance and morale
- Oversee onboarding, training and development of new and existing team members
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in retail operations, inventory, or back of house leadership roles
- Experience supporting teams in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
- Strong understanding of receiving, stockroom organization, and replenishment routines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with good organization and follow up
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator
- Comfortable using inventory systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office or similar platforms
Qualifications
- Two to four years’ experience in retail operations, inventory or back of house leadership roles; experience supporting teams in a fast paced and high-volume retail environment.
