Inventory Controller

About This Role

This role involves overseeing inventory management processes, analyzing inventory performance, and maintaining accurate stock levels for an industrial aftermarket products distributor. The Inventory Controller will work cross-functionally to optimize inventory and support cost control initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and approve daily Auto Stock Replenishments (ASRs)
• Partner with Territory Managers on annual inventory planning and optimization
• Identify and retrieve unproductive or obsolete inventory from the field
• Establish and maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels for Distribution Center and mobile stores
• Support inventory balancing and redistribution initiatives
• Analyze inventory trends, stock levels, usage patterns, and variances
• Identify discrepancies and investigate root causes
• Prepare and distribute detailed inventory and financial reports
• Use data insights to recommend actionable improvements to inventory accuracy and performance
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team to identify cost savings and improved supply chain efficiency

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of inventory control or inventory management experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability
• Solid understanding of ABC analysis and standard inventory management principles

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of inventory control or inventory management experience
